The federal and regional security agencies have lauded stakeholders who have contributed to conduct 6th general election peaceful in Ethiopia.

The federal and regional security agencies statement sent to mass media stated that the federal and regional state security agencies congratulated all Ethiopians for the successful conclusion of the 6^th general election.

According to the statement, the incident was a landmark through ensuring the peace and security of the people residing across the country as well as maintaining national interest by moving into a new democratic chapter. 

The high level participation, commitment, patience and cooperation shown by voters have also greatly contributed to the success of the election, the statement underscored.   

The statement also expressed that federal and regional intelligence security institutions became impartial, free of any political party affiliation, and also targeted to protect and defend the national security, interests and sovereignty of Ethiopia following the reform undertaken on security institutions based on directions given by government. 

The all rounded reforms of the intuitions has played pivotal role to serve all competing political parties and individual candidates equally and independently based on the principle of impartiality and implement the 6th general election successfully, the statement disclosed. 

According to the statement, the preventive measures undertaken during the preparation period by the security and intelligence institutions with a view to controlling the activities of anti-peace and terrorist elements has greatly contributed to the peaceful conclusion of the election.

Furthermore, the statement underlined that the system introduced by the National Electoral Security Strategy that operates under the auspices of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to coordinate the man power and technology of the security institutions has played a great deal of role to the effectiveness of activities in the security institutions.   

This kind of coordination will be scaled up in the future as the federal and regional security agencies have gained experience to ensure lasting peace and security, it was indicated.
